Sight For Development Foundation (SDF) is a non-profit organisation that was established in Uganda to advocate for the well-being of elders and engage the elderly population in economic and social development for them to be self-sustaining and age with dignity.
The Uganda policy provides for older persons’ participation in decision-making at all levels. With an increasing life expectancy, there is an urgent need to implement supportive measures that enhance the elderly’s quality of life,
promote their independence, and integrate them into their respective communities. The United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) commit countries to emphasise the importance of ensuring that everyone, including elders, enjoys a peaceful, healthy and prosperous life. SDF works with partners including government, civil society, private sector and development partners to support elders as a vulnerable group for the realisation of sustainable
development.
